ORBOTECH LTD announced today that Eagle Electronics, Ltd, a US-based manufacturer of quality printed circuit boards (PCBs) and a long-time customer of Orbotech, has successfully integrated the Fusion 22 Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) System into its production facility in Schaumburg, IL.

The Fusion 22 AOI system, with its powerful multi-image technology, offers the lowest false alarm rate in the market, which drives maximum throughput and production efficiency. The Orbotech system is expected to help Eagle Electronics support its customers by offering high-quality PCBs with industryleading production lead times.

“Eagle Electronics has an established track record for providing technology solutions and quick turnaround service to our customers. As part of our mission to lead the industry as an ISO-certified manufacturer, we produce high-quality, UL recognized MLBs,” explained Mike Kalaria, President and CEO of Eagle Electronics. "When we were looking at the next step for keeping Eagle Electronics at the forefront of PCB manufacturing technology, our long-term partner, Orbotech, an established innovator of production systems, was a logical choice, since we already enjoy an excellent experience with the Orbotech Paragon 8800, Sprint 8 and Genesis systems.” “

We are pleased that Orbotech’s Fusion 22 AOI system supports the business goals of our long-term customer, Eagle Electronics. The system adds value for Eagle Electronics customers and helps them stay ahead of their competition,” stated Hadar Himmelman, President of Orbotech West. “We are committed to designing the very best systems to keep our customers ahead of a very competitive marketplace, and we are confident that our best-in-class AOI solution will further enhance the production efficiency of Eagle Electronics.”

CES 2022 Has Begun, But Not as Expected

01/05/2022 | Dan Feinberg, Technology Editor, I-Connect007
This annual consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, which went virtual last year, still touts more than 2,200 exhibitors, but some of the biggest companies have modified their plans, and even the show itself is shorter. Many major exhibitors like Microsoft, Google, AMD, and Intel have either canceled or modified their in-person CES plans. Preshow events like CES Unveiled and the CES Media Days were still planned for Jan. 3 and 4, and Showstoppers will proceed. The change in the show's length follows two weeks of companies announcing their pivot to virtual-only plans for CES 2022.

On the (Show) Road Again

12/14/2021 | Dan Feinberg, Technology Editor, I-Connect007
Much has happened the past two years—politically, technically, and socially—that has greatly changed the path forward from what we had envisioned before the pandemic. Finally, here we are again, on the road between two full, in-person exhibition and technology events, AWE and CES. And what is the metaverse? Meta means transcendence and verse means universe, so we are approaching the capability of entering a virtual universe that is not reality but does exist outside of reality. What does that mean? It’s not just the future of Facebook, although Facebook and other social media sites will play a major role. In my opinion, the metaverse is a combination of the real world that you and those you communicate with occupy, while the XR world is generated by your devices.
