Ultra Communications, Inc., a manufacturer of high-speed digital and RF fiber optic components, announces successful completion of AS9100 certification for its quality management system. AS9100 is the international quality management system standard for the aviation, aerospace and defense industry. Ultra Communications' customers can now streamline their procurement processes with increased confidence in the quality and reliability of the products procured.

"AS9100 certification is an important step toward Ultra Communications' goal to be the premier supplier of fiber optic solutions to the aerospace and defense markets," says Charlie Kuznia, president of Ultra Communications. "By achieving this certification, Ultra Communications demonstrates our commitment to the highest quality standards required in our customers' critical applications. Our team manufactures the world's most compact high-speed fiber optic components for harsh environments, and this certification furthers that mission."

AS9100 certification provides several benefits to Ultra Communications' customers, including end-to-end supply chain management to reduce delivery times and costs, employee engagement to meet customer satisfaction goals and continual business process improvements to drive product innovation. The AS9100 standard requires periodic internal audits to maintain certification.

I-Connect007 Editor's Choice: Five Must-Reads for the Week

09/04/2020 | Nolan Johnson, I-Connect007
When compiling my Top Five, I tend to let the reader views guide my choices. Oh, sure, sometimes a news item is significant well beyond the reads it receives; that’s why this is an editor’s picks, not a strict Top Five. Still, readership habits inform my choices. In this week’s top five, four of the top five are news reports on mil-aero topics. You, dear readers, gobbled up the military and aerospace news this week. The outlier is, as we all would expect, a conference report from our very own Pete Starkey.

07/09/2020 | I-Connect007 Editorial Team
When we started planning this issue on working remotely, we knew we’d have to speak with Stephen V. Chavez, chairman of the Printed Circuit Engineering Association (PCEA). We recently asked Steph to discuss some of the security measures that his company employs and what his experience has been like since he began working out of his Arizona home office full-time several months ago.
