TRX Systems, developer of NEON® Indoor Location Solutions, announced the release of the NEON Micro-Tracer Solution, a highly accurate, contact tracing solution for identification of employees who may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus in the workplace.
Contact tracing, a core disease control measure, is a key strategy for preventing further spread of COVID-19. Immediate action is needed and the NEON Micro-Tracer provides an easy-to-deploy solution for businesses to reduce the further spread of the virus and improve employee safety as they return to the workplace.
TRX’s new NEON Micro-Tracer is an infrastructure-free, cost-effective solution that provides the peace-of-mind that employees will seek at financial institutions, call centers, warehouses, construction sites, and many other enterprises. NEON Micro-Tracer uses a simple and inexpensive wearable device issued to each employee, offloading data from personal phones and delivering higher accuracy and reliability.
NEON Micro-Tracer provides high accuracy person-to-person distance and duration measurements to track employee contacts throughout the shift or workday. A small, lightweight NEON accessory clipped to an employee’s belt or carried on a lanyard will measure the distance to other users within range. Distance and time data are stored locally and can be easily uploaded to the NEON Cloud for analysis and reporting. The NEON Micro-Tracer accessory provides distance calculations with cm-level accuracy using state-of-the-art ultrawideband (UWB) technology with time-of-flight ranging that is not susceptible to the inaccuracies experienced by signal strength-oriented technology such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). NEON Micro-Tracer was designed to be automated with little or no training required for each user and offers real-time, haptic, and audio social distancing feedback as well as rapid contact tracing capabilities.
NEON Micro-Tracer features and benefits:
- Compact: requires only a small, inexpensive accessory for each employee
- Accurate: cm-level person-to-person distance calculations
- Simple: no phone, no app, no employee training needed
- Long Life: 30+ days data storage, multi-day battery
- Private: data collected based upon accessory ID, no user name
- Fast: web app tools for quick contact database searches
“Employees returning to the workplace want to know that everything possible is being done to keep them safe,” said Carol Politi, President and CEO of TRX Systems. “NEON Micro-Tracer was designed to provide a simple and cost-effective alternative for businesses that can’t tolerate the possible inaccuracy and higher complexity of phone-based solutions.”
