Zuken Inc. has announced the completion of the Vitech Corporation acquisition which had approval of the United States Department of Defense and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). Vitech is a global solutions company based in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States with more than 25 years of industry experience in systems engineering methodology offering products and services directed at the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) market. The acquisition expands Zuken’s solution portfolio to include systems engineering, an area of increasing importance to product development companies.

“The acquisition of Vitech advances Zuken’s strategy to become a leader in digital engineering solutions,” said Jinya Katsube, Chief Operating Officer at Zuken, Inc. “Zuken is now uniquely positioned with solutions in both systems engineering and detailed design to take a leadership role in the development of electrical and electronic model-based design practices from product definition to manufacturing.”

As product complexity continues to increase, companies are adopting MBSE tools and processes to better define product requirements, structure, and behavior. Vitech Corporation’s GENESYS product is used to develop MBSE models that incorporate the key components for building a complex system involving people, processes, data, and documentation. Companies, particularly in the aerospace, transportation, and military segments are adopting MBSE tools and practices to address product complexity and safety concerns.

“Zuken has demonstrated the commitment and technology to build a new class of unique solutions to serve the needs of today’s engineering community,” said David Long, Founder and President of Vitech Corporation. “We at Vitech look forward to being part of the Zuken family and to playing a key role in their digital engineering strategy.”

Design Rule Checks Cut Down Board Respins

09/19/2019 | Rebecca Lord and John McMillan, Mentor, a Siemens business
PCB designs commonly undergo multiple respins as a result of inconspicuous signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and electromagnetic interference (EMI) violations. At an average cost of nearly $28,000 per respin, ensuring that a given design meets its performance, time to market, and cost goals is imperative. To help eliminate complicated and difficult-to-diagnose layout violations, some PCB tool suites offer unique electrical design rule checks (DRC).
