Digicom Electronics, Inc. announces that its reconfigurable open architecture computing hardware (ROACH) System (the spectrometer system it builds for worldwide astronomers) was instrumental in collecting the data used to capture the first-ever photo of a black hole. The ROACH System, and Digicom's Diamond Track quality electronics manufacturing services and capabilities, will be on display at Space Tech Expo, Pasadena, California, May 21-22, in booth 4023.

"Digicom is extremely proud to be a contributing provider of hardware deployed in capturing the first-ever image of a black hole by astronomers," said Mo Ohady, general manager of Digicom Electronics.

Digicom has worked with the Collaboration for Astronomy Signal Processing and Electronics Research (CASPER), the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) project, the University of California Berkeley, and many other institutes, researchers, engineers, and scientists from around the world for more than a decade to reduce the time and cost of designing, building, and deploying new digital radio-astronomy instruments. This collaboration has powered over 45 scientific research sites worldwide.

Digicom helps companies with their complete process, from design review through prototyping, component sourcing, assembly, test, process validation, shipping, and after-sale support.
