IPC—Association Connecting Electronics Industries has released a comprehensive video training offering. Seventy-seven of IPC’s most popular video training titles will be available as a comprehensive library subscription, or as mini-libraries focused on relevant topics including Hand Soldering, Electronic Assembly Inspection, Electronic and Wire Assembly and Electrostatic Discharge Fundamentals.
IPC’s award-winning, industry-developed content will be available via the robust IPC EDGE 2.0 platform, allowing access via web browser or mobile devices to either individuals or classroom settings.
“IPC offers a complete library of training videos that provides the foundational knowledge required for ESD control; hand soldering; IPC-A-610 acceptance criteria; rework and repair; components; wire assembly and more,” said Mark Pritchard, director, IPC media training. “IPC’s instructional videos are useful for new employee orientation, basic training, cross-training and continuing education—for companies, schools and career development centers. They can be streamed into your classroom or viewed online.”
Dave Hernandez, senior director of learning and professional development, added: “The annual video subscription training products provide unlimited use—throughout your entire organization. These enhanced training tools will afford companies the flexibility and access to training that they desperately need for their employees.”
IPC continues to invest in training products to support electronics manufacturing. Delivering the subscription video training service is the first step in supporting the industry with educational and training materials for operators, technicians, inspectors, and engineers. All videos include SDH captions for Section 508 compliance.

Nolan’s Notes: Do More, Get More
04/02/2024 | Nolan Johnson -- Column: Nolan's NotesThis month in SMT007 Magazine, we’re investigating box build, a manufacturing sector so closely adjacent to board assembly that some OEM customers they’re the same thing. To those of us doing this work, we know they’re very different. Traditional electronic assembly work is typically concerned only with attaching the components to the circuit board. That’s our idea of a “finished good.”
