Ibiden Reports Slight Growth in 2Q FY2018 Sales

PCB manufacturer Ibiden Co. Ltd has reported net sales of 144.25 billion yen ($1.27 billion) for the second quarter of fiscal 2018 ended September 30, 2018, up by 1.6% compared with the same period in the previous year. Operating income was down 15% to 5.87 billion yen ($51.6 million), while ordinary income was down by 4.9% to 7,855 million yen ($69 million).
The company recently unveiled its plans to invest 70 billion yen ($617.45 million) between 2019 and 2021 in new production facilities to increase its production capacity for IC substrates by 50%.
